Crashed Ship ( Concept Art & 3D Work )


Here is a cut though of the space ship that will be carrying the main character to the planet Dionysus I will upload more images of the ship. This is to show that part of the ship the character will live in and the part of the ship it was apart of before the crash.




Here I have made a detailed model of the part of the ship that the main character will be living in I have tried to make the model look like it has sheared off the ship and has rip beams in half and wires hanging off

HUD ( Concept Art )

Idea of how the screen might look and show information to the user. A hunger bar will be on the screen so the user can keep a check on it and whether they need to find food or continue exploring. We want to show health depletion through obscuring the screen in a similar way to how we will show the hallucinations only this will be done using red veins, blurred black around the edges of the screen etc.
Unity demo with a circular hunger metre. Decided against having random lines across the helmet as this would make the screen too cluttered with the hallucegenic effects from the plants and we would either have to run a script to remove it each time fruit is eaten or the effects would have to play over the top of the lines and this could cause complications.

Game Trailer/Intro? ( Research )




Inspiration from artist Erik Tran, who uses very retro designs for posters.

Below are three videos of the style we would like to use with the fallout 3 paying a place in a bunker advert and the deadspace 3 in after effects and metro last light with the video fadeing out and as the ship is crashing.

 
 
Alistair: This is a video i made in after effects with a space ship destroying the ISS and ibiza we would like to do somthing simuler to this for the ship crashing to the planet :D
 
 


Logo Design for Game ( Concept Art )

Logo Design for Game is showen below with the quick skeachs and ideas.

as the dionysus is a greek god i thought that useing a tial pattan for the logo would go well with the game so i made a few designes with this idea im mind and also using a website i found http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/mosaic/mklarge.htm and made the three ones below.

 but this did not look futurestic so got a metal texture and Toop found a cool future text on
http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Abduction.htm which i made the logo in the second up from the bottom left hand coner the final design is the bottom left hand coner.


 

Discussion Notes (Meetings)

So ideally after the presentation it would be good to hit the ground running.
We will find out what ideas Steve and Robin like and then work from there.
I'm thinking me and alice can work on  iterations for everything in the background just using basic shapes to start while 3D modelling is done. so we will test that code works for the simple things, running walking decreasing speed after so many minutes, picking up items etc.

The company that owns the ship we are imagning that it is a big corpartion like Buy N Large from Wall-E but on the inside its evil and we would like an logo for the company.

Landscape for Dionysus ( 3D Work & Research )

 These are the images from the rendering from the simple modal that I made to show are basic landscape for the planet and how at one end of the canyon there will be a landscape skybox.

07 FEB 2013 Jobs to be done for presentation?

Alice and Toop, just keep working away on moodboards for plants, planet, terrain that kind of stuff.
Alistair, any renders you have as an example of the cannyon? also if you want to make any updates to the birds eye view map?
Jamie, maybe mess around wit things on UDK and any screen caps or videos you can make of prgress so we can decide if UDK will be a realistic option? also i think you were saying you'd redo the planet concept?
I'll be working on storyboards for the concept and some rough concepts of character, other plants, or whatever?

And if anyone else feels like it do some concepts if you have ideas :D theres no real date for these to be done just keep updating on the blog and so long as this is up for the presentation which is supposedly on the 18th? thats all good :D
